Michael Kachmar, D.P.M., F.A.C.F.A.S., F.A.C.F.A.O.

Dr. Kachmar has been in practice since 1986 in the Ocean/Monmouth County area and is Board Certified in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery and has successfully performed over 5,000 foot/ankle procedures in the past thirty years of practice. He completed his medical training at Temple University, including residencies at JFK University Medical Center, Stafford, Cherry Hill and Turnersville, NJ, and Temple Sports Medicine Center. Dr. Kachmar was born in Jersey City, NJ and moved to the Jersey Shore in 1970. He currently resides in Toms River, NJ. While attending college he was on the swim team, and subsequently became a lifeguard on the Seaside Heights Beach Patrol and currently continues his affiliation as the Beach Patrol physician.

He previously served as the Chairman of the Department of Podiatric Surgery at Community Medical Center, Toms River, NJ. In addition, he served as the Chairman of the Podiatry Subsection at Southern Ocean County Hospital in Manahawkin, NJ and the Director of Podiatric Services, Center for Diabetes in Toms River, NJ.

He has extensive years of experience and training in reconstructive pediatric and adult lower extremity surgery i.e. flat foot surgery, congenital deformity, peripheral nerve surgery, and deformity of the lower extremity. Dermatological conditions such as biopsy and removal of skin cancer are also part of Dr. Kachmar's expertise.
